MIRACLES OF JESUS

Overview of 13 Lesson Series

Jesus had a love and compassion for all people.  When people came to him who were suffering and asked his help, he gave of himself gladly.  Many of the miracles he preformed were witnessed by only a small group of people, while huge throngs witnessed other miracles.  Jesus knew that these displays of power would draw the attention of the Jewish authorities; but his compassion for people led him to help whenever asked.

Jesus was the Son of God but he was also human and his human side became tired and hungry just like you and I do.  So there were times when he had to stop and rest.  These quiet times were often interrupted by the press of the crowd or the cries of his own disciples.  How easy it would have been for Jesus to have taken the shortcuts offered to that Satan had offered him during his temptation in the wilderness before he started his ministry.

His example while here on Earth is something we can all follow.

True, we can not heal sickness and disease with a touch of our hand; but we, too, can find compassion in our hearts to go the extra mile in helping others.  We can give that extra word of encouragement and smile to those who need it.  We can consider the needs of others before we make selfish decisions.

Jesus healed the sick and raised the dead.  He ended by giving his own life on the cross.  Surely we can take the extra step to show his love to others.
